I watched this last year but I looked back and I noticed I didn’t really write anything about it. Here are my Top 3 moments (with animated GIF’s!):
#3: Dilophosaurus
It goes from super cute to super terrifying in an instant, it looks amazing, the sound design is fantastic and Nedry’s a bastard who gets what he deserves. It’s plainly super awesome.
#2: “Clever girl”
This is such a memorable moment that I manage to quote it constantly even despite the fact that I barely know or speak to any girls and/or velociraptors.
#1: “Welcome to Jurassic Park”
I think I’ve spoken about this moment before, but it’s really one of my favourite moments in all of cinematic history. The soaring score, Sam Neill’s knees buckling beneath him: it really sells that whole ‘cinema as your dreams brought to life’ vibe that Hugo was banging on about. Love it.
Also fun about watching it this time was seeing it with someone who had never seen it and who is very sensitive to “scary” movies. I’ve seen it so many times it was nice to see it reflected through someone else’s eyes.
